Here are the online charts for the week. As you can see, 2NE1 is giving SNSD a run for their money. I’m now very curious if SNSD can repeat their ‘Gee’ success now that they have serious competitions. People who bought the ‘Gee’ album were not all avid fans but people who just enjoy music as it is. You really have to admit. The K-pop scene was kinda dull and boring at the start of the year. Only SNSD was the known group who was active at the time. Now, SNSD has a chance to prove that their win wasn’t just luck. If they can prove it, I’ll have new found respect for them as artist and to their popularity. Well, at least in Korea.
First place was shared this week by three popular groups. 2PM won Mnet, 2NE1 won Music Bank, and SNSD won Inkigayo for the second time. Music Bank just posted the ranking for their July 17 episode. It makes me wonder. Was their a mistake? They usually post it a few hours after the episode has concluded. Well, we don’t know. We just have to wait and see.
